Don Angus is a 2004 graduate of Suffolk University Law School. His background as a Real Estate Professional goes back to 1988 when he first began selling homes. He has worked in almost every area of the business: as a Real Estate Broker, Commercial Title Examiner and as an Attorney. This gives him a well-rounded understanding of most transactions.  Also, he has worked on closings in almost every area of Massachusetts, from Pittsfield to Nantucket.

In addition to representing home buyers, sellers and lenders, Don has a very busy practice working as title counsel on commercial transactions. He is a Land Court appointed title examiner. He has worked on projects ranging from stripmalls to sports arenas and downtown office buildings. He has also done several small condominium conversions and has experience in commercial lease negotiation.

Christopher W. Vaughn-Martel is a founding member and partner at Charles River Closings.  Chris has a passion for real estate acquisition and development, and he delivers a superior customer experience for each client in their unique real estate transaction.

In addition to representing home buyers, sellers, and lenders, Chris is the founder and managing partner of Vaughn-Martel Law, a boutique real estate litigation, family law, and estate planning firm in Boston. Chris’s practice includes residential real estate disputes, tenant-landlord and eviction, partition actions, and property ownership agreements.  Chris regularly appears before the Land Court in matters including estate litigation and the partition of real estate.

Chris received his Juris Doctor in 2006 from Suffolk University Law School.  He earned a Bachelor of Arts in History in 2000 from Marist College in Poughkeepsie, New York.  Chris is an active member of the Massachusetts legal community, and has been named a Massachusetts Rising Star in Boston Magazine’s annual list of Super Lawyers. In 2011, he received the Shining Star Award from the Victim Rights Law Center in recognition of his pro bono advocacy on behalf of sexual assault survivors.

The name of the firm was chosen very carefully. While we aim to serve all of Massachusetts and have a special connection to the Cape and Martha’s Vineyard, we are based in Boston and most of our clients come from Middlesex, Suffolk and Norfolk counties. There is no greater symbol of the area than the Charles River.

Also, both Don and Chris are former four year members of their college and high-school rowing programs. Chris is still active in competitive rowing and serves on the Board of the Gentle Giant Rowing Club in Somerville, a local non-profit that, among other things, helps make rowing available to local kids. Don also coached rowing at the club and intercollegiate level in the Boston area for many years. So, the connection to the river and the rowing community is especially strong for this firm.
